چکیده

Abstract The use of ducted configuration to increase the efficiency wind turbine rotors is gaining wide attention in scientific community. Specifically for mini and micro urban environment applications this solution demonstrated be very attractive. possibility overcome Betz limit power coefficient was widely horizontal axis turbines. However, few studies have dealt with Savonius rotor despite these represented an efficient thanks their simplicity, cheapness low cut velocity highly turbulent conditions as well. Furthermore, concept, might applicable oscillating water column wave energy devices, its self-rectifying capability simplicity. For reasons, authors carried out experimental campaign verify impact ducting rotor, thus leading way a possible exploitation many practical applications. Specifically, present paper deals study type air performance. In particular, performance studied function overlap ratio. Four ratios were tested: 0, 1/6, 1/3 1/2. A specific setup built test turbine, while bare measured using tunnel. All tests performed at fixed velocity: 5 m/s. On basis results, it state that higher than performance, all tip speed ratios. optimal ratio equal 1/3.

How to Increase Your “Power”

For a researcher, the power refers to the possibility of proving the difference between the two different groups. In other words, the probability that the test correctly rejects the null hypothesis when the alternative hypothesis. Generally, statistically significant results are obtained if statistical tests are performed with enough numbers. In the usual case, the clinical difference is not so...

Application of guide blades for improving performance of savonius wind turbine

Application of guide blades is an appropriate method for improving aerodynamic performance of savonius wind turbine. Guide blades gather the wind energy around the turbine and guide them into the concave side of savonius rotor. In this paper, numerical investigation is conducted for evaluating effect of the guide blades on the performance of savonius turbine. Aerodynamic performance of the turb...

How to Increase the Acceptance Ratios of Top Conferences?

In the beginning was the pub. This work was triggered by a pub conversation where the authors observed that many resumes list acceptance ratios of conferences where their papers appear, boasting the low acceptance ratio. The lower the ratio, better your paper looks. The list might look equally impressive if one listed the rejection ratio of conferences where ones paper was submitted and rejecte...

Variation of sedimentation coefficient with rotor velocity.

The sedimentation coefficients of three proteins, which appeared homogeneous in the ultracentrifuge, have been determined at different rotor velocities. Two of the proteins, ovalbumin and human gamma-globulin, showed sedimentation coefficients that were approx. 10% higher at rotor velocities below 20000rev./min. than at 56100rev./min. The third protein, haemocyanin of Jasus lalandii, could not ...
